I’m so excited to share with you guys my love for film. I’m proud to say I am a Redding film newborn photographer.
Film photography has never been so special and relevant. It has a unique, timeless, real quality that you just can’t get with a digital camera. Film newborn photography really shines because you have to be calm. I have to breathe and I have to be thoughtful with the baby I am currently working with. Instead of shooting everything; I shoot the best things and everything else is ignored.
I adore film because I have to force myself to slow down. I have to know enough about my camera, my film, and the surrounding lighting to capture a great shot without seeing it on the back of my camera.
I shoot with a Nikon F100. She is a beauty and was one of the last film camera’s Nikon ever made. The F100 is a 35mm camera and so each roll of film has approximately 36 exposures per roll. I typically shoot two rolls of 35mm film per session which comes to 50-70 images for my clients.
This saves so much time and I am able to give my clients their images so much faster. I do not have to spend a thousand hours going through all my extra unneeded shots to find the best ones.
Film sessions are still in the beginning stages of being fully implemented into my business. If you would like to jump on the new service band wagon I would love to help you to do that. If you can book a limited and exclusive Film Newborn Session by following the link below.
