When my little ones started kindergarten, I quickly realized their school pictures had a dated feel - like decades old! Why was such a time honored tradition, of school pictures just wasting away and not reaching amazing families with frame worthy portraits?
That's why I'm so proud to bring you SIMPLICITY!
Gone are the days of tacky neon backgrounds and cliché props - we can all relate to that, can't we?
Enter SIMPLICITY, our modern approach to school portraits, designed to capture your student in a timeless manner, and actually print-worthy!
All orders are placed after picture day when your student's online gallery is available. We encourage you to only buy what you truly love, so we don't request payment or order forms before picture day.
Our backdrops are designed in a neutral style, so please consider this when choosing outfits (unless your student wears a school uniform). You won't see your child posed with props like pumpkins or in front of cliché backgrounds with bunnies. We aim for timeless, classic images that you'll cherish for years to come. Students are photographed against a seamless paper backdrop in shades of gray.
We believe in natural smiles: While most kids happily pose for photos, some children may feel shy on picture day. We never pressure a child to smile. Although we make every effort to ensure they feel comfortable in front of the camera, we value capturing them authentically, even if it means their smiles aren't always wide.
We appreciate candid moments: If your child is full of personality, be prepared for some unique photos in their gallery. Expect to see candid shots, including laughter, funny faces, and more that showcase your child's individuality.
We have a sensitive approach: We understand that picture day can be overwhelming for young students. While we try our best to help shy students adjust to being photographed, we cannot guarantee photos if a child is uncooperative or starts to cry due to the time constraints of school picture day. We prioritize the well-being of each student and aim to create a positive experience for all. Thank you for your understanding.
We reserve the right to not continue photographing a crying or upset child. Thanks for understanding!

Questions
Within 2 to 3 weeks of your school picture day your gallery will be delivered. Length of time it takes varies based on many things however like size of your school, whether the school would like class composites or ID cards.
All ordering is done through an online gallery.
Each child receives a average of 5 images in color and black and white. Parents can also choose their favorite pose instead of having a pose chosen for them. Besides the traditional photographic prints we also provide digital files for you to use for archiving and any future printing.
Make up days are scheduled on a case by case basis. We will be providing a makeup day popup in our studio space later in the school year if your school doesn't provide a makeup day.
If your child is not required to wear a uniform we always recommend having your student wear soft neutral tones or subtle patterns. It is also suggested that you steer clear of any graphic t-shirts.
If you have not received your order within 2 weeks of ordering please let us know! You can reach out to us at photos@caytonheathphotography.com and we will check in with our photo lab to make sure you receive what you ordered.
