When you first get engaged there is nothing more beautiful or brilliant then your engagement ring! Its sparkle goodness and you just can’t stop looking at it!!
Before you know it though that brilliance starts to fade and it may even get some gunk under the prongs.
Time needed: 30 minutes.
Get your wedding rings photo ready with this tried and true method for safely and gently cleaning your wedding rings at home.
Soak your wedding ring in warm water with dishwashing soap
Let it sit for about 20 to 40 minutes
Then gently brush the stone with a soft toothbrush (don’t forget the part that sits against your finger.
rinse and repeat if needed
Over a decade ago I worked at a lovely jewelry shop and we sold wedding rings. We would gladly clean them for our customers and it only takes about 10 minutes. You can actually take your rings to any jewelry shop and they will clean your rings and check the prongs without batting an eye.
If your engagement ring happens to be white gold you can also have it “flashed” or “dipped”. You know its time to do this if your white gold ring looks less silver and more “less then silver”. Flashing or dipping is when your jewelry will re-coat your ring in white gold giving it it’s like new characteristics back. The acidity of your skin can play a roll in the frequency of needing to do this.
