Before School Picture Day | Tips For Schools | Redding CA

School Picture Day example of an upper elementary boy in black and white.

When you think about picture day and all that needs to be done for your school it can be a bit stressful. Our goal is to create an experience that is simple and easy for our schools because there isn’t much that they will be responsible for before, during or after picture day.

I have put together this brief list of things we here at SIMPLICITY School Portraits and Cayton Heath Photography would love for you to be aware of that will make picture day go totally amazing.

Check for our Emails

We send out a handful of emails to our schools with lots of helpful information and to do items that help picture day run smoothly. Double check to make sure that we are marked as “not spam”.

Student Roster Sheet

Every school we work with will fill out a roster sheet for their student body. The roster sheet will be sent out to the school via email about 4 to 5 weeks before picture day and will need to be returned to us no later then 2 weeks before picture day. This roster sheet helps us create the QR Codes given to each student so we can easily keep track of everyone and send out the individual galleries to each student’s family.

Parent Communication

One of our main goals is to help make communicating with parents easy for our schools. We provide optional posters to put around your school to get parents and students excited for portraits. We are also very open and transparent about the ordering process and what parents can expect to spend if they desired to purchase any of their student’s portraits. We give each school a bundle of paper packets just for parents (this paper packet also can be sent as a pdf in an email if preferred).

Portrait Day Representative

This is a very important part of our process. We ask every school to designate a go to person for us that will be our main contact throughout the whole process. This person will be available to us before, during and after picture day helping with communication and our day of setup process. This representative will also be required to stay with us all throughout our time on your school campus helping with the students, teachers, and any concerns that may arise.

Lastly

We love helping our schools so at any point during the process please feel free to reach out to us with any thoughts or questions. You can email us at photos@caytonheathphotography.com
